If you or a loved one are among the estimated 1 - 2% of the world's population that has vitiligo you will know that it can seriously affect daily life in all sorts of ways.  The loss of skin pigment caused by vitiligo typically results in irregular, white patches that can occur anywhere on the face or body and sometimes also leads to patches or streaks of white hair and white eyelashes or brows.  
In the past, the practical, cosmetic and psychological impact of having this condition often had me scouring the internet in search of vitiligo remedies that might help me get rid of my white patches and improve my health, confidence and quality of life. In particular, I used to search endlessly for helpful tips and solutions from other sufferers.  Because the fact is that, unless you have first-hand experience of living with a skin condition like this, you cannot really understand how profoundly it affects every area of your life.  And you cannot imagine what a huge difference every tiny improvement can make to how at ease you feel, literally, in your own skin.  ​

A brief history (and a new direction) for Vitiligo Store

Vitiligo Store originally grew out of my frustration at spending hundreds of hours searching for home remedies, health foods, nutritional advice, vitiligo diets and other solutions that might improve my skin condition and my state of mind... and then spending hundreds more finding out where I could buy the relevant products.  Not only that, but I must have wasted a lot of money on items that promised a lot but then did not live up to my expectations. 
 
It struck me, more than once, that a single shopping site offering a cross-section of vitiligo-related items all in one place would have made life a lot easier, especially if each product had been tested by someone with vitiligo and found to be safe, effective, good quality and genuine value for money.  So back in 2015 I finally decided to create one.  It contained a variety of vitiligo-related products from various manufacturers and was a fully functioning shopping site for the next 10 years.

However, rising operating costs, increasing numbers of requests for vitiligo support and a vitiligo blog to maintain, have all turned this one-woman, part-time labour of love into a tricky balancing act. So I have decided to streamline and simplify Vitiligo Store by focussing on the core products and making them available direct from the manufacturer.

These specific nutritional products are the very ones that were absolutely central to my own vitiligo recovery. Not surprisingly, they are also the same products that the vast majority of Vitiligo Store customers have been using since the site was created to support their repigmentation journey. So this site now provides detailed information on these nutritional products exclusively and - instead of providing a shopping cart - links directly to the manufacturer's shop instead.

This new arrangement allows me to continue to provide my vitiligo friends around the world with product information via this site, free support via email, and ongoing vitiligo news via my blog at TheVitPro.com.
